I saw a squirrel thing today!!!!! well, it was smaller than a squirrel but it did have a brushy tail!!!!!!

on my way home from work, going on labouchere road (where the zoo is...which may explain the furry creature that MAY have escaped...) and drive drive drive, looked on the side of the road and THERE was this little furry dude!!! it wasnt moving, prob coz of all the passing cars, but i SAW IT! it was on the side v. close to the curb!!! that made my day!!!!!!!

today was kinda boring.... ok, it wasnt kinda, it WAS boring... i ended up at my office (my "new" office) coz i was suppose to be working at another building with this lady called Jenny, but then this guy Brendon who is on my team or something was in (coz it was raining and they can't harvest, therefore he was at south perth) ANYHOO, Brendon is like this middle aged dude, and he's kinda looking after me, well, sorta, but he's not my supervisor or anything.

i ended up weighing up small samples of a whole bunch of wheat samples that were harvested in december! these are like small envelopes with wheat grains in them in these boxes... and its like...oh... about 400+ envelopes! coz its from plots from trial sites...

i only got thru about 170 or so.... standing up pretty much the whole time, but sure beats canola work!

i miss diagnostics... mainly coz there are more people around there to talk to, and *younger* people too.... thats the downside i suppose, one of the many thoughts that popped into my head while doing this task today, since i was pretty bored.... i would want a socialising job i suppose, i mean not being about to talk to anyone, or at least on a constant basis, kinda sucks.... but i guess i'll be doing different things next week and so on.

my office building thing is far far far from A block or B block (A block is the front building when visitors come to Ag Dept, also has the canteen, and B block is where i use to work for Diagnostics) so im going to try to take the opportunity to NOT buy lunch, save some money and bring food. i could go, but i dont think a 5min walk is really work the time one way.... *sigh*

anyway, pros so far, i have a radio to listen to, cons, its on 6PR, and i havent been bothered to change the station just yet... :p Brendon wont be in for most of the day tomoro, coz he's on some field trip to Beverly, so, i might change the channel tomoro...

my "office" is shared also with other peeps, coz theres a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and sink there, and a water cooler fountain thing... downside? most of the other tech officers are older too... i can tell, coz of their grey hairs.... i mean nothing wrong with that, its just different when u dont hang around people your age.... but i suppose thats the same for everyone right?

but besides from all the bickering, up side... u know what i've been thinking about all day? jam donuts.... i dont know why, and it was to a point where i dont feel like it... i think it was the wheat grains... they smelt.... well, i dont think they really smell strong, may have been a trigger that makes me think of jam donuts..... but they dont smell bad (thank GAWD)

then i kinda realised what my job was about.... well, im under the grain breeding, and im under wheat... the type of grain that they are trying to achieve are the top quality type that are used day to day! its the soft type i think, well, its the finer type for biscuits, breads and baking goods, even noodles! well, from information i got before, well, these grains that we are breeding that are sold to farmers to grow top type wheat, they are exported overseas, and apparently, we have it good with japan and its noodle industry...

i was just thinking, well, its pretty important to get the good stuff, so that we can enjoy all kinds of baked goods....

then i just thought, maaaan, i need some sugar....

hehehe....

im not sure, but those iron pills im taking, i dun like them!! ;/ i feel kinda sick after i eat them... like this morning.... kinda feeling sick sick.... but keeping it to myself, since no one was really around... i dun know if its coz of those, or just coz i need energy... i think i need to bring some lollies to work or something...

tomoro i'll be continuing with that grain weighing thing....
apparently if i finish it, i'll be doing some glasshouse work... hmmm.... i wonder whats in store on friday.... i have a feeling i'll be doing some training next week :/ errrr....

anyway....

better be off!
