merry christmas to everyone!!

im only a day late, but im sure thats not too bad right?

yeah, i havent blogged in a while, so this is just a good time that i feel like blabbing my mind away!

wow, so xmas has come and gone.

HAPPY BOXING DAY!

its freaking hot...

who would've known that the weather could hit the forties so fast, especially on xmas... and we actually had RAIN a few weeks ago, and it was actually COOL!

well, this weather kinda reminds me of up north in newman, freakin hot... except its hotter than this, and its like.... well, after a while you dont really think about it, you just deal with it, just input heaps of water and eat eat eat eat! like you are prepared with it, in the mornings you go to the mess and eat brekky, its airconditioned inside of course, and then you make your lunch, and they have HEAPS of food, and you grab what you can, and dont forget fruit, and yeah, you're loaded up for the day...

now in perthies...

its just hot, you feel lazy.... you just wanna sit and do nothing because its your holiday break, and im sure your body aint feeling too peachy keen either!

well, im thinking i aint feeling crash hot about doing much either, because of the sudden weather change.

its like freakin cold in melbourne, so i hear and see on the news! rain? cooler temperatures? weird... why did perth have to have the hot spell? well, its just the way it is... we have hotter temperatures than darwin atm...

and to think that its already hit 36 degrees and climbing, holy moly...

the plan is to go to the beach today... have a nice dip in the ocean......mmmm.... except when i think abt it.... crap, sand, what about parking?, hot sand... sunscreen, goopy, greasy, TAN, getting super brown.....

i dunno thats just me being pessimistic of course!

but beach is good if its no overcrowded!

hoping that people are staying at home in their airconditioned homes instead of venturing out in the heat to the beach.... *hoping*

oh well, see how the day goes...

so how is everyone's xmas?

any quick rush for last minute pressies?

well, yesterday we had a lunch at home with Es and K coming over to join us.

I made a roast turkey thigh courtersy of ingham! :p and roast veggies! with some konyakku jelly with lychees on the side!

i kinda didnt really know what to expect, coz i'd never cook one before (of course what i mean was bung it in the oven on my own and see what happens kinda thing) coz previous xmas's my sis did it :p anyhoo, so good thing i checked the day before, coz you had to thaw it like 36hrs or something before u cook it! so that its thawed all the way through i guess, since its like a big chunk of meat! on the pack, it says it takes like 1 hr and 45mins to cook! and it had crappy instructions! (or perhaps im just crap at reading!)

coz the turkey had netting on it, and i was like, eerrr.... reading the instructions, and i cut it off... after i realised that i wasnt suppose to! BUT it was ok, the turkey still turned out good, moist meat, it wasnt dried out which was the ojective!

Es cooked fried mee fun! which was nice to compliment the turkey. she also brought fruits along for later. the guys pretty much played their computer games, while es and i were just playing on the wii and snoozing about on our lazy xmas day!

so full after eating lunch, and we didnt finish everything either!

it was a 1kg turkey for 4 people and i reckon could've prob fed another 2 people!

but yah, it was good...

at night, went over to bubs dads place, coz his sis, D, it was her bday!

his cousins were also over, which was great, the more the merrier! and we feasted on seafood....omg, already full from lunch, chomped on prawns, oysters, crayfish.... full full full, and there was a massive roast pork! with crackling! it was so crispy! with gravy and second round of roasted veggies.... so freakin full!

also had cherries and grapes for fruits... and...... il gelato cake!!!

well, it was my idea to get it, coz i felt like il gelato and i wanted to make a cake, as in, you can get them to make it for you and you pick 3 flavours. but this was on saturday and you need 3 working days to have to get it done, but since we had xmas on tuesday and they'd be closed, we had to pick it up on monday and yah, not enough time!

oh well, but we ended up getting one of the four pre-made ones, except we were able to get writing on it (happy bday D) which was good enough! it was made of ferrero, nougat and bacio! yum yum yum!!

it was great! esp. coz its like "sealed" up in the icing, so transporting wasnt too bad, like it didnt melt in the time that we had to move it from here to there!!!
